Getting with Korean Fashion

Yes. That's right. I purchased an ajumma visor. (Ajumma means middle aged woman in Korea- they often wear visors like these..). Lucy and I found them in Goesan at an outdoor market for only 3,000 won (around $3). Quite the steal. We proceeded to wear them around town and blended right in! ....ha
I also wanted some fruit, so I bought a peach from one of the fruit stands. The woman selling them gave me 2 instead. This is very common in Korea- it is called "service." Businesses will give you things for free to thank you for being a good customer. For example, at a bar we will often be given complimentary cokes or extra snacks, or when we ordered take-out last night, they threw in a coke and side snacks. This is one of the things I love about Korea- it is all about good service and showing appreciation. Koreans are very generous people which is so different from the US.

This week has flown by. And today has been awesome. In Korean class we got to go on a quick "scavenger hunt" to practice directional vocabulary. My partner and I totally won for our class (booyah!). Here were the directions:

I just thought that Peter might enjoy seeing what I am learning, haha. :)
So we got candy in class, lunch was delicious and then Lucy, Leslie and I went downtown. And tonight!!!---We find out our placements!!! So yes- a VERY exciting day today!

Anyways, can't wait to bring back the visor trend to the States.

Until next time...
